If you would like to bring one or two well-behaved pets on holiday with you, then you are very welcome. We do ask for a supplement of £50 per holiday and request that you bring suitable bedding, blankets and towels to ensure the human versions aren’t ruined. Please do kindly let us know in advance if you plan to bring your pet so that we can ensure extra cleaning time is arranged. You will need to check the Pet Supplement box at the time of booking.
Gosling has diesel-powered central heating and is very snug in cold weather. Of course, in mid-winter there is a small chance that the canal itself may freeze over and our lower pricing reflects this risk. If this is so bad that you are unable to leave the marina, then you are still very welcome to use the boat as a retreat, knowing that you really will be enjoying the ultimate secluded getaway! The Canal and River Trust operates a maintenance programme which sometimes results in certain routes being unpassable. You are advised to check on their website if you have set your heart on a particular route.
Your narrowboat holiday or short break includes a Damage Waiver. This means that if you have a minor collision or accident, or cause damage unintentionally, we won’t ask you to pay for the cost of repairs or to cover our insurance excess. Our narrowboat is covered by insurance for the big stuff (including Public Liability), and we will take care of that. But as long as you follow our boat-handling guidance and safety instruction, and stick to our Terms and Conditions, the Damage Waiver means that we won’t ask you to pay for any breakages or losses. So you won’t need to leave a cash deposit when you collect the boat, or worry about any hidden costs.
