Watford Locks

This set of Beginner Guides is being written over the winter of 2019 to help with navigating around the waterways of Market Harborough, including Foxton Locks. These guides cover the main navigational features that you will encounter during a 3 or 4 night break from Union Wharf.

The Grand Union Leicester Line is rich with tunnels, locks and swing bridges – each with their own characteristics and peculiarities. To a novice narrowboater, these features can be the most daunting part of preparing for a trip and we hope this collection of Beginner Guides will put your mind at ease.

We offer all kinds of narrowboats, fromĀ Day Boats to Boutique Narrowboats and boats suitable for families. All our hires involve full training and we welcome complete beginners.
