We welcome thousands of visitors to Union Wharf every year. Many come to hire a day boat or a holiday boat. We also offer private moorings for boaters if there is room.

The setting is a stunning one, with the lovely Waterfront restaurant and bar taking pride of place at the foot of the basin. Union Wharf has a rich history, too, acting as a distribution centre for coal, grain and wool in its heyday (read more about that here.)

Union Wharf has a lot to offer boating hirers. Free parking, a dedicated marina office for checking in and out and electric hook-up if you prefer to stay in the basin and explore the historic Market Harborough on foot. We also have experienced trainers to complete the handover with you and offer you support on planning a route if needed.

The Canal and River Trust also provides services here for private boaters which include a water point, bin store and toilets and showers, although we aren’t able to offer a pump out service or fuel sales to the general public.
