No experience is needed; we love welcoming beginners onto our narrowboats. We provide a full handover when you arrive to pick up your boat, and we are on hand via our helpline should you need any assistance while out on the water.

No, all fuel is included within the cost of the hire. We never charge our guests for fuel.

Yes, all Union Wharf holiday boats are equipped with central heating throughout, meaning you can enjoy one of our narrowboat holidays year-round.

Autumn and Winter are often favourites for regular narrowboaters because the canals are much quieter and more peaceful, the colours are incredible, and there’s a greater chance of spotting wildlife like swans, herons and kingfishers.

With holiday boats, you can choose how far you would like to go. This will depend on how much time you want to spend cruising per day and which destinations you would like to visit. Check out our route guides for more information.

With day boats, there is one route to Foxton and then return to Market Harborough.

Each boat is different, so it is important to check the boat’s specifications before booking. Generally, our day boats take anywhere from 2-12 people, and our holiday boats take between 2-6 people.
