Day Boat hire from Market Harborough
Our Day Boats are suitable for 2-12 people, plus a dog or two. You can captain your own little narrowboat up to the bottom of Foxton Locks and back, pausing for a towpath picnic wherever you wish.
Perhaps you are celebrating something special – an anniversary or birthday – or perhaps you simply want to get away for a few hours, away from all other distractions.
Book our Day Boats online using the calendars below and make your payment via Paypal or bank card as you choose.

Social Distancing and Coronavirus Guidelines
Government guidelines are rapidly changing so you will need to check who can travel with you on your day boat. Here are the current government guidelines:
If the guidelines have changed since you booked and you are no longer able to travel, then please email us to arrange a postponement or refund.
When you book your Day Boat, you will receive a Booking Confirmation email with links to the boat manual and an online preparation course. The Designated Skipper is asked to read the manual thoroughly and complete the online course, even if they are experienced.
With this preparation work complete, we will be able to shorten your training time on the day to practical training.
When your party arrives at the marina, you will gather at the named meeting point for your boat opposite the marina office. Your entire party will be directed to board your boat and remain inside, until the Designated Skipper has received any necessary training from us (at a 2 metre distance.)
You will need to provide contact details for each member of your party for the government’s Track and Trace system.
Once the skipper is happy at the controls, we will wave you on your way!
Please contact us if you need to cancel your booking for a genuine reason and we will do our best to find you an alternative date.

Your route from Union Wharf at Market Harborough canal basin will take you through the peaceful Leicestershire landscape.
After your training, you will set off at around 10am, through a swing bridge and a further foot bridge, into the basin at the bottom of Foxton Locks. You do not go up the locks on a Day Boat (you will need to book a holiday boat for that experience!)
Here you can enjoy a drink or some lunch at a canalside pub, before turning round by 2pm and heading back to Union Wharf.
You will disembark by 4.30pm (5pm in the lighter months) – with lots of memories to share 🙂
